OLED is now the newest face in the TV and display market. And apart from popular belief, OLED TVs are being looked at now as being the next potential alternative to LCD TVs today. Aside from having several common things, these two TV’s are still very different when it comes to the release of images to the viewer. So which of these TV’s are better then?
Aside from LG’s announcement of its reveal of the OLED-TV 15EL9500, the company has already made this product available in South Korea and Europe just recently; and will be promptly followed with its release in the US this summer. This very slim-set TV has a contrast ratio of 10,000,000: 1, that looks far better than any other existing 15-inch TV’s. It also has an HD Ready 720 P (equivalent to a 1366 x 768 resolution); and is made available with a USB 2.0 input.
OLED, also known as Organic Light Emitting Diodes, are components used in a new type of viewing screen or display. The OLED technology boasts of its bright lighting and color-rich features (where color depth is precisely imitated and can be seen in a more realistic view compared to LCD), and can be viewed at much greater angles (free view of almost a 180 degrees), as opposed to LCD’s.
Aside from these superb features, the material used for an OLED TV can emit light and will no longer need a back-lighting, and ‘twisting’ crystals, not like LCD’s. When compared further with an LCD TV’s specifications, OLED TV’s have a faster refresh rate, and can also give out better contrast. Not only that, LG’s OLED TV’s are offering it in the market at a really thin size. This just goes to show how superior OLED is in this category now.
Choose to buy this product as the environment can also benefit from your usage of it. When used, an OLED TV will only charge in less power compared to an LCD’s power usage (which uses more power when it displays very dark or black images). And since it only requires little power to work, this in turn should say a lot about a product’s longer life span (the parts used for this product during usage will not be strained extensively). It also does not contain bad metals and can be put on with a very slim shape (good for limited spaces and for quick storage).
